The Counselor (DVD, 2014, Canadian)

The two lovebirds agree to get married but Laura does not know that the lawyer has serious financial issues that made him fund a drug deal he believes will save him. When the drug deal goes wrong the counselor finds himself in a war zone and has to protect his bride-to-be and himself from the rage of a drug cartel who has no reservations about exacting vengeance. This film written by McCarthy and directed by Ridley Scott is a thriller rated R for violence and language.
